BUFFALO, N.Y. — The artist behind the "Greetings From Buffalo" mural is at it again.

Casey Milbrand is prepping for a new mural on the side of CRAVing Restaurant on Hertel Avenue called "Lookin' Good."

"It's inspired by the North Park Theatre, the old signage," Milbrand said. "The idea is to pat Buffalo on its back a little bit. I think years ago we were negative as a city and now people realize how much potential we have."

Working with the North Buffalo Organization, the building’s owner, Sinatra and Company, and local officials, the new project landed in one of North Buffalo's up-and-coming neighborhoods.

"There is so much going on on Hertel and we just want to inspire people with our message," said Joann Steinmetz, the interim executive director of the North Buffalo Organization.

"There's restaurants popping up everywhere and a lot things happening, I think it's the perfect place for it."

Aside from making the street look a little prettier, public art is seen as an asset for the businesses on Hertel Avenue.

"It invites more visitors and shoppers to our community so it's good for the economy. But we also think it gives the community residents a sense of pride," Steinmetz said.

"Whether you moved away or you still live here your whole life, people want positive things and my art is based on that," Milbrand said.

In order to raise the additional $3,500 needed to complete the mural, Millbrand will be selling pieces of art at the North Buffalo Farmer’s Market at the North Park Community School Thursday at 4 p.m.
