LOCKPORT, N.Y. — Almost two months after the disappearance and death of 64-year-old Rudy Ray Rockett Sr., the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office is charging his stepson with murder.

Sheriff Jim Voutour says 29-year-old Gregory Roy is charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a firearm.

Back on April 29, Rockett was reported missing after he missed his flight back to California from the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.

The sheriff says Rockett's stepson would have been the last person to see him as he was supposed to give him a ride to the airport for that flight.

Investigators say he tried to hide the whereabouts or location of his stepfather by turning off the location on Rockett's phone.

In May, Rockett’s body was found in Cattaraugus County in a ravine.
