The Massachusetts Avenue Park Growing Green Project looks to take kitchen trash and turn it into mulch treasure.

Through a partnership with the City of Buffalo, they’re collecting food scraps to compost, becoming a rich fertilizer for gardens across the city.

Each Wednesday through July 25, people are invited to bring their kitchen scraps to the park, including fruit and vegetable peels, egg shells, leftover salad ingredients and coffee grounds. The composted mulch will be ready next year.
