A New York City firm will investigate rape accusations against the former head of Erie County Social Services.
Legislators unanimously approved Lemire LLC to lead the investigation of Al Dirschberger.
He resigned as county social services commissioner in December.
A woman who reported to Dirschberger claims he sexually assaulted her at a conference in Albany.
He pleaded not guilty to rape and criminal sex act charges.
A bipartisan group of legislators will be in charge of the special committee reviewing the investigation.
Lemire was chosen after multiple interviews with eight different investigative teams.
