Hundreds of people are helping Bills legend Jim Kelly and the Hunter's Hope Foundation

The Kelly Tough 12K run kicked off at the Adpro Sports Training center Friday in Orchard Park.

People of all ages came out to raise money to help raise money to fight leukodystrophy.

Kelly's son hunter was diagnosed with the rare genetic disease before he died in 2005.

Kelly's wife says her family stays "Kelly tough" with the help of charitable Western New Yorkers.

"What these people are to us, they're an encouragement,” said Jill Kelly, wife of Buffalo Bills legend Jim Kelly. "And so being around anyone that’s come out tonight and just being here is such an encouragement. Knowing that people took time out tonight to come and participate in the 12K means a lot to us."

The race first began back in 2015.
