A Buffalo-based staffing company is accused of violating federal laws for multiple discriminatory hiring practices.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says Staffing Solutions of WNY Inc. refused to hire highly-qualified black applicants, or placed them in the lowest paying and least desirable jobs.

The business' owner is also accused of using a racial slur while referring to black applicants.

She's also accused of telling her staff to comply with clients' race and sex preference and rejecting pregnant applicants, applicants with disabilities and those who were over the age of 50.

The EEOC is seeking back pay, compensatory, liquidated and punitive damages, as well as injunctive relief.

In a statement, Staffing Solutions says the allegations are meritless and disturbing, and accused the EEOC of wanting litigation from the start.
