Christine Pusateri lost her husband while he was serving in the military in 2005. As a Western New York native, she's always had the support of the community behind her.  Now, with the help of Citizen's Bank she and her children have some weight lifted of their shoulders, receiving a fully renovated, mortgage free home.

Pusateri applied for a home through the Military Warriors Support Foundation. Fitting all the criteria she was chosen, making her the first recipient in New York.

For the past six months volunteers have been working to make sure the house was turned into a home for Pusateria and her family.

"We believe that it's important for all companies to give back to the communities that they do business in and I think for someone like a military veteran or a gold star family it's even more important because they've given so much for all of us," said Brad Conner,Citizens Bank Vice Chairman and Head of Consumer Banking.

In addition to the home, scholarships have also been set up for Pusateri's children, leaving her to worry less about finances and more time to enjoy with her family.

"I didn't really have the money to take the kids anywhere so we just basically stayed home but now we'll be able to enjoy everything out there. There's just going to be a lot more opportunities for everything here," she said.
