LOCKPORT, N.Y. — Relief is just around the corner for City of Lockport residents suffering from streets riddled by potholes.

City leaders say roadwork has been delayed about three weeks by the unseasonably cold weather.

Many streets throughout the city took a beating due to the freezing temperatures, ice and snow this winter.

Now that the temperature is rising, work crews have to wait before they can effectively hit the streets.

"Certainly people are concerned about the potholes and wondering what our plans are. So, the main plan is that our milling company is coming on Monday. They'll be spending five days milling the worst streets, and then our crews will be going in right after to pave those streets. So, it's really, the future is coming soon where that will be fixed," said Lockport Mayor Anne McCaffrey.

The city says some of the hardest hit streets scheduled for work include Walnut, Clinton, East Avenue, Davison Road and High Streets.
