BUFFALO, N.Y. — This may be the busiest time of the year for the Broadway Market but for other businesses along Broadway, it's business as usual.

At the United Supermarket, just two blocks from the Broadway Market, manager Nasser Ahmad says business is far from booming.

He says the shops and stores east of the market are virtually ignored by the huge influx of people into the neighborhood during the six week period leading up to Easter.

He thinks promoting businesses along Broadway might help boost business in the neighborhood.

"We need to be recognized like the Broadway Market, because we're here just like them. We have businesses just like the ones they have in the Broadway Market, and we're here all year, not just on Easter. We're always open," said Ahmad.

Fillmore District Councilmember David Franczyk says neighborhood improvements and reduced crime has attracted more people to the Broadway corridor year-round.
