BUFFALO, N.Y. – Millions are slated to participate in the March For Our Lives rally in Washington D.C. Saturday.

On Thursday, Mayor Byron Brown announced that Buffalo will have its own rally in solidarity with the national movement.

The anti-gun demonstration in Washington D.C. was organized by Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students.

Some are survivors of the latest mass school shooting in which 17 students and faculty were killed by a gunman.

"Across our nation and in our communities, too many of my peers have become victims of gun violence because there are no laws preventing guns from getting into the wrong hands," said Buffalo student Fariyah Ibrahim Diriye.

Mayor Brown said he wants to see lawmakers pass “sensible and responsible gun control legislation.”

The mayor has sponsored a bus trip to Washington D.C. for Buffalo students who wish to participate in the national rally.

March For Our Lives Buffalo will be held Saturday in front of Buffalo City Hall at 1 p.m.
