ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A local attorney and former East Rochester town justice has surrendered his license after admitting to misappropriation of almost $400,000 from former clients.

According to legal documents obtained from the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division, Terrence Brown-Steiner admitted to multiple infractions, including misappropriating over $300,000 from a sale of a home in which he represented the sellers.  He has agreed to pay all of his victims back.

Brown-Steiner resigned as East Rochester's town justice two months ago.

When asked about any possible criminal investigation, the Monroe County District Attorney's Office declined to comment.
