CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. -- Amber Torres is from Solano County, California and traveled with her daughter to Buffalo to stay with family here after wildfires began closing in.

"My sister, her house ended up having to be evacuated because they could see from their front window, the fire,” said Torres, "They gave her only two hours to get everything out of the house and get out."

The wildfires in Northern California are already well on their way to becoming the deadliest and most destructive in state history.

Torres is planning to stay through the weekend, but says she and her daughter will ultimately return once they know it's safe.
