NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- Located in the heart of Niagara Falls, the vacant building at 6th and Walnut will now play a role in educating and training adults.

Congressman Brian Higgins along with Niagara Falls Mayor Paul Dyster announced Monday a new BOCES office will open there early next year.

This former board of education building has been unoccupied for nearly a decade. Now Ellicott Development will redevelop the building for the new BOCES office. The building was bought by Ellicott Development about five years ago and will have a 10-year lease. BOCES has nearly 40 offices across New York state and adult education is their top program.

"Investments in new housing, the medical campus on 10th Street, roads, small businesses and now job training, make this neighborhood a place to live, work, eat, receive preventive medical services and now learn," said Dyster.
