A new group hopes to help people hold local governments more accountable. Western New York attorney Paul Wolf created the Buffalo Niagara Coalition for Open Government which met for the first time Tuesday night.

He says both the public and media have trouble requesting information from public officials.

"I've had my own personal difficulties with getting information from government officials and we heard from people from all over... Erie and Niagara counties that have had similar problems. Rather than just individuals alone fighting this fight, we want to form this coalition to bring people together," said Paul Wolf, Founder of Buffalo Niagara Coalition.

The group's next meeting has not yet been scheduled.
