Sears has announced its auto center will close next month.
A company spokesperson says the property has been sold to the Staten Island Mall, which plans to use the space for its current expansion project.
The Sears Department Store will remain open.
Longtime customers say the auto center will be missed.
"People are upset because I find a lot of times you find older people in here so they're kinda more comfortable with something that's familiar to them rather than going to a particular place that they don't really know," said one Customer.
20 people work at the auto center. Sears says they'll be able to apply for open positions at other Sears or K-mart stores.
