BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Erie County Democrats have chosen Jeremy Zellner to continue as their committee chairman.

They unanimously re-elected Zellner at a party reorganization meeting Saturday.

Zellner was first elected as Committee Chairman back in 2012.

He says the unanimous vote is a strong sign of party unity that will help the national party come November.

Zellner released a statement saying in part, “Lietunant Governor Kathy Hochul, Congressman Brian Higgins, Senator Tim Kennedy and Mayor Byron Brown all spoke of the importance of electing Hillary Clinton as our next president and the pivotal role that the Erie County Democratic Committee must play in that endeavor. With only 45 days to go until Election Day, the Erie County Democratic Committee is stronger and more united than ever and will be doing everything we can for her candidacy."
