BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Federal drug charges against a now-former Niagara Falls Police Department officer were outlined on Thursday.

Officer Stephanie Costanzo was involved in a cocaine conspiracy between July and November of this year, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office, who said Raymond Hopson and Lindsay Carrier, Jr. were also involved.

More than 150 grams of cocaine and marijuana were found at the home of Costanzo, where she and Hopson lived together. Police say Hopson sold cocaine to an undercover officer multiple times during the investigation.

Niagara Falls Superintendent Bryan DalPorto says the alleged actions of Costanzo in no way reflects upon the department at large.

"She was immediately placed on leave without pay. She was processed for termination and in the process of termination, she did resign from the Niagara Falls Police Department," said DalPorto.

Costanzo could face up to 40 years in prison if convicted on all charges.
