A 17-year-old has been charged with murder in connection to a fatal shooting in Buffalo on Saturday.

Officials from the Erie County District Attorney's Office say Damoni Alexander of Buffalo shot 20-year-old Brandon Williams in the early morning of September 29.

Williams was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Alexander faces one count of second degree murder. He was arraigned in Buffalo City Court Thursday.

Alexander is scheduled to return to court on October 10 for a felony hearing. He was remanded without bail.

If convicted, Alexander faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
