BATAVIA, N.Y. — A fight over stolen property led to a Batavia teenager being stabbed Saturday.

City police say the suspect and victim were teammates on the school district’s football team.

Antwan Odom, 18, is charged with first-degree attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

He was arraigned in Batavia City Court and sent to the county jail.

Officers say this all happened at the Ross Street home of the victim, 17-year-old Raymond Leach.

According to investigators, Leach accused Odom of stealing property and an altercation followed.

Leach suffered several cuts and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester where he was treated and released.

During the investigation, officers say Leach told them it was his neighbor and classmate Odom who hurt him.

Odom was then found at his home and taken into custody.

He has a preliminary court appearance set for Monday.
