BUFFALO, N.Y. — Firefighters responded to an overnight house fire on Buffalo's east side.

It started just before 11 p.m. at 87 Fay Street and was put out in minutes.

Everyone inside got out before first responders arrived.

Firefighters say the temperature was an issue when trying to get water.

"We actually had a hydrant two houses away and we tried to use that hydrant, and it was frozen," said Daneil Bossi, Buffalo Fire Chief. "So we did have to lay out about 400 feet of hose to Bailey to get a hydrant that was actually working."

Bossi adds there is about $100,000 worth of damage to the home the cause is still under investigation.
