BUFFALO, N.Y. — The man who shot and killed an employee at the Anchor Bar will spend more than two decades behind bars.

Jorge Suarez was given the maximum sentence, 25 years to life, in prison Thursday.

He was found guilty of murder in the second degree earlier this month.

Suarez shot and killed Freddie Dizzon inside the Anchor Bar in May 2016.

Before sentencing, Dizzon’s mother addressed the court, saying she would never forgive Suarez for what he did.

Suarez' lawyer says since there were no eye witnesses or a murder weapon found, and most of the evidence was circumstantial, he plans to appeal.

District Attorney John Flynn says Gregory Ramos, the accused getaway driver in the case, will go to trial sometime in the new year.
