JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Mia is feeling like a new dog.

The toy poodle was found covered in feces, had extremely matted hair and a large cyst on her abdomen when she was rescued from a burning house on Mt. Vernon Place in Jamestown Thursday. Another dog also was recovered by firefighters.

The three people in the house at the time of the fire,  David Wright, 31, William Wright, 39, and Lisa Bortz, 40, were taken into custody on animal cruelty charges, including torturing and injuring animals and failing to provide proper sustenance.

Mia remains at Jamestown Veterinary Hospital where she is receiving treatment.
