There's no denying Thurman Thomas is one of the Bills' greatest players, and one of the best running backs in the history of the NFL.

Born in Houston, Texas, Thomas went on to star in college at Oklahoma State as a Heisman Trophy finalst. A knee injury wound up dropping him into the second round of the 1988 draft, and Thurman never forgot it.

He used that slight as motivation thorughout is career — and the Bills were the beneficiaries.

The franchise's all-time leading rusher was a key cog in those teams that went to an unmatched four consecutive Super Bowls.

He was the 1991 NFL Most Valuable Player — and went to the Pro Bowl Five times.

The Thurmanator remains the only player to lead the league in all-purpose yards in four straight seasons.

He spent 12 of his 13 seasons in Buffalo — and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007.

And now, the Buffalo Bills No. 34 will forever be his alone.
