Spectrum News will host a debate between the four Democratic candidates running for state attorney general.

Sean Patrick Maloney, Tish James, Zephyr Teachout and Leecia Eve have all agreed to participate in a live debate moderated by Capital Tonight host Liz Benjamin and political anchor Errol Louis from our sister station NY1.

The 90-minute debate is scheduled for Tuesday, August 28 at 7 p.m. in front of a live audience at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City.

Democratic voters will make their choice between the four candidates in the primary election on September 13.

Republicans have nominated attorney Keith Wooford for the job.

The current state attorney general, Barbara Underwood, was appointed by the legislature in May to replace Eric Schneiderman, who resigned following reports of domestic abuse.

Underwood is not running for a full term.
