Downtown Endicott is in the middle of a transformation. Officials hope to create a new hotel, housing complexes and streetscaping improvements, all thanks to a $12 million boost.

The money comes from part of Governor Cuomo's Upstate Revitalization Initiative. In addition to state funding, private investors are expected to contribute more than $40 million to renovation projects.

Residents filled into the village municipal building to hear about the changes they can expect to see.

"We've been working a long time. We have a committee that put it together and they're just jumping for joy that their hard work and all the long meetings is coming to fruition," said Endicott Mayor John Bertoni.

Some projects have already started, the mayor said it could take a couple years before all the work is complete.
