A Christmas dinner that started as a way to give back has grown to be one of the most generous not-for-profits in the Southern Tier.

Coming up on its 29th year of serving the community, the Bandera family is gearing up for another season of Christmas dinners. And this time around, Bill Bandera and at least 150 volunteers will be bringing meals to even more people, expanding the dinner to Norwich.

While the dinner expands and changes, the reason behind giving back remains the same.

"What my parents taught me as a kid and a young adult: It's better to give than to receive. That kind of thinking, and it's an opportunity [and] an honor and a privilege for me to be able to love on people and touch and impact them in a positive way," said Bandera.
