Tops Markets announced Monday that the Western New York-based supermarket chain has emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which it filed for this past winter.

The company stated it reorganized and was then able to reduce its debt by some $445 million. Ten stores were closed over the summer.

There are 159 Tops grocery stores across upstate New York, northern Pennsylvania, and into Vermont.
