The winner of the 22nd Congressional District race is getting closer to being declared.

Two Board of Elections are still counting affidavits, absentee, and military ballots, but Tioga County has released their unofficial results.

There, incumbent Republican Claudia Tenney gained 186 votes from absentees, emergency ballots, and affidavits.

Democrat Anthony Brindisi gained 173.

Meanwhile, Monday was the fourth day of counting in Oneida County, where both candidates are from.

They will continue counting Tuesday, along with Chenango County.

At the moment, Brindisi is unofficially leading Tenney by 3,120 votes overall.

Six of the eight counties in the district have released their unofficial results after the affidavit, absentee, and military ballot counts.

Tenney's campaign manager said, "We are continuing to see through the vote counting process this week, and when all the votes are counted Congresswoman Tenney will respond accordingly."

Last week, Brindisi's campaign manager said they believe he has already won a decisive victory.
