BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Businesses from throughout the Southern Tier are joining forces to help the region grow.
On Wednesday, representatives from eight counties announced the first ever Industry Summit Series.
The group plans to discuss the current strengths and weaknesses of the area while focusing on collaboration. The summit will also address how young professionals can impact the region.
Organizers say the only way to improve as a community is getting everyone in the same room.
"It's very important to bring together the leaders from the public and private sector. This allows them an opportunity to work with each other where they may not have had an opportunity before," said Jen Gregory, Southern Tier 8 Executive Director.
The first Industry Summit will take place in two weeks, on Wednesday, November 28th.
