Hundreds of people made their way through the Hilltop Haunted House Tuesday.

It is actually a nursing home, where workers spend weeks transforming the auditorium into about a dozen spooky rooms.

Through the years, the haunted house has expanded.

The staff looks forward to seeing the older residents get involved in the Halloween tradition.

"It’s so much fun you question whether or not older adults would enjoy it, but they love it they have such a great sense of humor they love to laugh they enjoy being scared," said United Methodist Homes Administrator Kate Conant.

The event is free and open the public. It continues on Halloween from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 286 Deyo Hill Road, Johnson City.
