Communities are coming together to mourn the lives lost in the synagogue shooting.

Vigils were held at Jewish community centers across the region, bringing together people of all faiths.

Many calling it an attempt to bring light to a dark situation. Also calling on each other to help stop the violence, with more acts of kindness.

"We will not be paralazyed. We are going to continue living and continue connecting one another and that what this evening is about, how we can support each other in this very difficult time," said Rabbi Barbara Goldman-Wartell.

The Syracuse JCC issued a statement on Facebook, reminding people that their building is a safe and secure place.
