A group of volunteers on Saturday set up beds for a garden on Abbot Street in East Binghamton.

It's the 12th garden to be built as part of a Vines campaign to build 20 gardens by 2020.

Vines is a local nonprofit that's dedicated to creating and sustaining gardens in the city.

Residents are already looking forward to planting seeds.

"I'm so excited because it is accessible, so people who are elderly, it's not just folks with disabilities, but people who are elderly that's where I fall in. It's a great opportunity to do something I wasn't able to do before," said VINES volunteer, Susan Link.

To use the garden, anyone can rent a bed for $20.

That money goes toward providing gardening tools and needs on site.

The garden will be ready for use in the spring.
