The driver in a crash that killed a Steuben County fire chief is now charged with vehicular manslaughter.

42-year old Robert Neally was already facing DWI and traffic charges connected to a crash on state route 415 in the Town of Campbell.

State Police say Neally turned into the path of 65-year-old Terry Hill, who was riding a motorcycle, and died at the scene. Hill was chief at the Lindley Presho Fire Department.

Members have placed black bunting outside as a symbol of their loss - as the tightknit community comes to grips with what happened.

“He was the fire chief but also worked a number of different jobs around the community and so it’s not easy,” said East Lindley Baptist Church pastor Sheldon Roblyer. “It’s not going to be easy for that day but we are putting our hope in the Lord and the comfort that he provides.”

The funeral will be held Sunday at 2:00pm at the Lindley community church on Morgan Creek Road.
