BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Spectrum News was well represented at this year's Spiedie Fest, as we took part in the ever-popular cooking competition.

Reporter Vince Briga and Digital Executive Producer Tim Robertson teamed up and created a dish that honored the original spiedie by using lamb as part of an old Italian recipe from Endicott's north side.

And there were some special judges on hand: Rep. Claudia Tenney and her opponent, Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi, set aside their differences to enjoy the competition.

"Everyone's a winner today I would say, because they're here, they're participating, and it's a great event," Brindisi (D) said.

"It's just exciting that the community comes out and celebrates all kinds of things, and it's for a charitable purpose which is even better," Tenney (R) said.

Our team took second place in the competition.
