In Corning, a hotel that's been in the works for a while, is almost ready to welcome guests. The Hilton Garden Inn was delayed for two years due to soil concerns, but work resumed last year.

A representative for the property said, they're shooting to have it done by the end of the month.  The number from their website said they are taking reservations. But, they wouldn’t be available however till after September 8th.

Work is continuing on the Corning–Hilton Garden Inn. The only thing left is minor work such as putting in furnishings. Just a couple of weeks ago the lettering was fastened onto the roof. The project has a price tag of over $20 million. The hotel will have 125 rooms and is expected to be the cornerstones of the revitalization of North Corning.

“Corning is a tourist mecca. We're a preferred destination internationally actually and this helps us welcome new guests and it's an exciting new offering," said Corning Mayor Bill Boland.

A ribbon cutting is in the works but that won't be until after the hotel officially opens. According to their website rooms start at $184.
