UNION, N.Y. -- New candidates are coming forward in the race for Union Town Supervisor.

Two more names joined the race this week after the current town supervisor Rose Sotak announced she will not be seeking re-election.

Rick Materese, the former executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of Western Broome, and will be running on the Democratic ticket.

He previously served on the Broome County legislature from 1989 to 1990, then later from 2005 to 2010.

Materese is focused on making the town more appealing to businesses and building better relationships with town employees.

He also hopes to explore more options of sharing services.

Republican candidate Kenneth Del Bianco was the commissioner of public works in the town for 20 years.

He's focused on bringing back more housing and expanding the tax base.

These candidates join Republicans Frank Bertoni and Dennis Ede, along with Democrat Frank Palmisano.

Those Primary races are on September 13th.
