BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The city of Binghamton is undergoing a transformation, with a number of construction projects currently underway.

The Front Street Gateway project includes the installation of new sidewalks and curbs, along with new water and sewer lines.

The $6 million project will give the residents a new artery into the city.

Over on 7 Hawley Street, crews are beginning work on a brand new, mixed-use parking garage.

It's set to feature 6 floors, with 300 parking spots, along with commercial space and market rate housing.

The bulk of the work on Front Street is set to be completed by the end of the year.

The 7 Hawley Street parking unit should be open in the Spring of 2019.

In the meantime, a number of detours have been set up near Front Street to move traffic away from the construction.
