JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. — Mom's House in Johnson City offers free licensed childcare to single parents who go to school full-time.

The organization helps parents achieve their educational goals so they can provide for their families and have promising futures.

According to a Pew Research study, about one in four mothers are raising children alone.

One board member says there have been a steady number of clients over the years.

Currently they watch about 20 children, and they are more than happy to provide the support.

"They're really good people, but they need help," said Donna Rahner, a Mom's House Board of Directors member. "And the kind of help we provide gives them a leg up in achieving their goals. And it's important to us and it's obviously important to them."

More than 250 parents have graduated from educational programs with the support from Mom's House.
