It finally felt like Spring just in time for the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park's opening day for the season.

New to the Zoo this year is conservation weekends.

They will celebrate amphibians and they're importance in the ecosystem.

During Conservation Weekends, one dollar from admission will go to the Global Conservation Fund.

Zoo officials say they are excited to see everyone back.

"It's a little nippy, but the sun is out so it's been a very great day everyone's been going a little stir crazy I think even bundled up they've been coming out and coming through the gates so it's been a really fun day,” said Zoo Director Jackie Peeler.

The zoo first opened in 1875 and is the fifth oldest zoo in the country. It's open daily, through September, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
