Broome County now owns the former Endicott-Johnson factory on North Page Avenue.

The State Court of Appeals upheld the decision to allow the county to foreclose the property, after the original owner failed to pay taxes. Local officials says it's a victory for Endicott and the county as they continue to revitalize the area.

"It's important that we have a nice-looking community, and we really start to fix up our community and really attack and fight this blight," said Broome County Executive Jason Garnar. "We started with homes and the big industrial buildings, as you can see, over the last year, are really on our target now."

The county executive plans to have the property demolished by the end of the year.
