Binghamton University is rallying around one of their own to try and prevent carbon monoxide deaths.

Lee Norris died unexpectedly on January 8th, 2018 from Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Now, his sister and her university colleagues are donating more than 60 detectors to the Broome County Health Department.

Lee was only 30-years-old when he died this winter and did not have a working carbon monoxide detector in his home. Because of his death, Lee's sister and co-workers want to make sure people know about the importance of having a working detector.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2015 more than 1/3 of carbon monoxide caused deaths occurred in the months of December, January, or February.
