BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The South Carolina woman who was arrested in Broome County after police found a missing two year old in her car, suffering from a gunshot wound, waives extradition.
Holly Dew, 23, will now return home for her hearing.
Last week, the Horry County Police Department notified local officials that a family they were searching for may be driving through the area. This came after a child was reported missing.
State troopers spotted the vehicle around 1 a.m. Friday.
The child was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his lower extremities. Two other children were also in the car and were later turned over to child protective services.
Dew, and 23-year-old Randi Session, who was also in the car, are charged with misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
There is currently no word on a court appearance for Session.
