The community gathered at the American Civic Association where 13 people died and four were injured.

City officials, faith leaders and family members said prayers and speeches to honor the victims.

One of the the speakers lost his parents when he was 11.

He says it's great to be surrounded by a loving community, but life will just never be the same.

"Although I get a lot of support from my family, I really just miss the support from them," said Hermanoschy Bernard, the victims' son. "Because from the day I was born they were always there to support me, and when they're gone, it's just something that's always going to be missing."

There's also an American Civic Association memorial in downtown Binghamton to pay tribute to the 13 victims.
