The Binghamton Rumble Ponies will host their welcome dinner Tuesday night. It's the first chance for fans to meet this year's team, which includes Tim Tebow.

The former Heisman Trophy winner found out in the last few weeks that he would be heading to Binghamton out of spring training. He's been with the Mets organization since September of 2016, but spent much of last year playing single-A minor-league ball in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Now he'll move up to double-A with the Rumble Ponies.

"We got to meet a lot of good people, and we were all around Binghamton in the surrounding areas and counties around here, and it's good," Tebow said. "I've been here for only two days, but it's been a lot of fun, getting to see the city a little bit, meeting a lot of people, and everybody's been extremely nice."

Tebow will be at the Rumble Ponies' meet-and-greet dinner Tuesday night to meet fans. Opening day is scheduled for Thursday, weather permitting.
