Jim Kelly was up and walking as he continues to recover from surgery to remove oral cancer.

Dr. Mark Urken, a head and neck surgeon at Mount Sinai West, said the all-time Bills great is resting comfortably and his recovery time in the hospital should take about two weeks. He'll then have a follow-up cancer screening in three months.

The surgery itself consisted of removing cancer from Kelly's upper jaw and nymph nodes in his neck, then reconstruction of his upper jaw using part of his femur.

Jim Kelly was first diagnosed five years ago but went into remission. He announced his relapse earlier in March.
