Construction continues at the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport.

The framework for the new terminal is built and now crews are working on the interior of the new section. The terminal will feature three outdoor courtyards with a patio allowing people at the restaurant to sit outside. The airport received about $40 million in state grants, which put a tight deadline on the project.

"From beginning of the design to end of construction is really about the amount of time you want just for the design alone," said Bill Hopper the Aviation Director. "So it's less than 26-months that we're doing this and so we’re moving very fast.  When you do that you're pretty much designing as you go."

The terminal is expected to be finished by October 31.
