Students at Maine Endwell read a list of victims' names during their walkout Wednesday morning.

The gathering took place in the lobby of the high school, because according to one student, they were told not to leave the building.

However, the superintendent of M-E said that wasn't at all the case.

He said they brought in state troopers, the sheriff's office, and other adults to supervise any students who chose to go outside for the walkout. The auditorium was also made available.

As for reports that some students had a hard time getting back into class, the superintendent said the only repercussions were for students who failed to return to class.
