Elmira police have arrested three men after a man was found dead in a dumpster.

Police arrested 36-year-old Fabian Bonaparte, 20-year-old Kharii Monroe, and a 17-year-old male on Tuesday. All three have been charged with 1st-degree manslaughter.

Officers were called to the intersection of Mount Zoar and South Main Street at 1:35 a.m. on Tuesday, after a witness reported seeing a fight.

The caller said he saw a person knocked down and being carried away from the scene.

Police said officers located the man dead, inside of a dumpster behind the Samaritan Center.

"We do believe this is an isolated incident -- there's no danger to the public,” said Sgt. William Solt of the Elmira Police. “We believe the parties were known to each other."

The victim's identity is being withheld until family is notified.
