Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker says more guns in the classrooms isn't the answer.

He says the nation should take a closer look at initiatives already adopted in the Bay State -- including an assault weapons ban and a law giving police chiefs greater power to deny gun licenses.

Bump stocks, like the one used in last year's deadly Las Vegas shooting, are also banned.

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump suggested that highly trained teachers would be a deterrent to possible future gunmen.
