HARPURSVILLE, N.Y. -- With Arctic-like temperatures approaching, places like Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville are taking every precaution to ensure their animals remain safe.

Owner Jordan Patch says the majority of the animals have been placed in barns and heated spaces throughout the park. Since each animal requires a specific temperature, they're kept in several different indoor locations, where a heater ensures their health and safety.

But officials say animals like the new reindeer, arctic wolves and bison thrive in the cold weather.

Animal Adventure opens again to the public on May 16.
